Harvard Accepts our Abstract
The abstract we submitted for the Harvard University Forum on Islamic Finance was accepted and we will present it at a pre- or post-forum workshop. The acceptance of our paper is a significant honor and we look forward to sharing our insight and experience implementing the model in Sri Lanka with the workshop participants.
Idea for a Presentation at Harvard
Dr. Ehsan Feroz, Blake Goud and Mohammad Rahman submitted an idea for a paper for presentation at the 2008 bi-annual Harvard University Forum on Islamic Finance. The paper will be a model for non-profits looking to establish a profit-and-loss sharing microfinance program.
Description of the Cost-plus Sale was Added
We added a description of the cost-plus sale with deferred repayment to the Products page. The description provides a detailed overview based on our procedure and may change once we begin piloting the product in Sri Lanka later this year. Comments can be directed to info@halalmicrofinance.org
Halal Microfinance by Institute of Halal Investing
The Institute of Halal Investing introduced a website following the development of an equity-based model of microfinance inspired by the products created by Islamic financial institutions.
This website will provide draft and completed documents about the equity-based microfinance model and data on its effectiveness as it becomes available.
